In the latest edition of Art Battle Brasil, Luiza Leiva took part in an artistic experience shaped by time pressure and direct engagement with the audience: the live creation of a painting in just 25 minutes. The event follows a “creative battle” format, where artists paint in front of an audience that witnesses the entire process — from the first strokes to the finished work.

The dynamic is intense: in addition to watching, the audience votes in real time and participates in the auction of the artworks created during the evening. Luiza’s piece was auctioned off, closing the cycle of the performance with a gesture of recognition and connection.

Used to the quiet and introspection of the studio, the artist embraced the Art Battle as an opportunity to step outside her comfort zone and explore the strength of art made in real time — unstable, sensory, and open to improvisation.

Luiza’s participation in Art Battle Brasil highlights her ongoing exploration of creative processes that unfold in real time, in dialogue with the audience and the unpredictability of the gesture. More than a competition, the event became a living experiment in creation, exchange, and memory.
